Stockholm Open: Tommy Paul and Grigor Dimitrov to Battle in Finals
Stockholm Open has its finalists: Tommy Paul and Grigor Dimitrov, who beat Stan Wawrinka and Tallon Griekspoor respectively. Here is a brief summary of their wins:
Tommy Paul Ends Wawrinka's Impressive Run in Stockholm Semifinals
Tommy Paul brought an end to Stan Wawrinka's inspiring run with a decisive 6-3, 6-2 win on Saturday. Wawrinka, a 39-year-old three-time Grand Slam champion, had previously created waves by defeating top-10 player Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals—his first victory over a top-ranked opponent in more than a year. However, Paul, the 27-year-old American ranked 13th in the world, proved to be a tougher challenge.

Paul asserted his dominance from the get-go. Wawrinka had opportunities to break back when trailing 4-2 in the first set, but he couldn't capitalize on them. Paul, who previously won the Stockholm title in 2021, showcased his powerful gameplay and swiftly moved through the second set to secure his place in the final.
After the match, Paul said: “Stan is an amazing player. He’s had an amazing week. It’s been really fun watching him and it was really fun playing against him today.”
Dimitrov Advances to Final
Later that evening, Grigor Dimitrov outlasted Tallon Griekspoor in a thrilling encounter, winning 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. The third-seeded Dimitrov had a strong tournament run, defeating Frenchman Quentin Halys and Swiss Dominic Stricker on his way to the final. A former champion of the Stockholm Open in 2013, Dimitrov now faces Tommy Paul in what promises to be an electrifying final at the Kungliga Tennishallen.
