Description
Rush Tour 5 Clay Men's Tennis Shoes
The Rush Tour 5 Clay is the clay-court build of Wilson's stability shoe, and the outsole is the reason to pick it: high-abrasion Duralast rubber in a tread cut for loose surfaces, so the shoe lets go into a slide and bites again at the end of one. The Black/White colorway is the darker of the release, which hides the orange staining that clay leaves on a white upper after a few weeks.
The trade-off is bulk. Holding a foot steady through a long slide takes structure - a carbon plate under the arch, a reinforced wrap at the midfoot - and structure costs weight and a little forefoot flexibility. Wilson spends that weight on support rather than on stack height, and leans on a high-rebound foam to give some of the energy back on the push-off. If your priority is the lightest shoe you can find, this is not that shoe.
Key Features
- Clay-specific Duralast outsole: high-abrasion rubber in a tread pattern made for loose surfaces, so grip returns at the end of a slide rather than halfway through it.
- EndoFit Midfoot Support: an internal wrap through the arch that limits how far the foot travels across the footbed when you brake sideways.
- Dual Axis Speed Carbon Frame: a 4D Flex Carbon plate drawing on Wilson's FORTYFIVE racquet construction, resisting twist under the arch while leaving the forefoot free to bend.
- Super foam midsole: a light, high-rebound foam meant to return energy on the first step out of a slide instead of flattening under it.
- Ripstop mesh upper: a light woven upper with tear-resistant threading, which matters on clay, where grit and toe drags shorten the life of plain mesh.
- Rush last: the same foot shape used across the Rush line, so the fit should be familiar if you have played in earlier Rush shoes.
Specifications

Who It's For
- Players who slide into shots and need the shoe to stop where they stop.
- Clay-season regulars whose hard-court tread packs up with granules.
- Baseliners who change direction hard and want midfoot support through the slide.
- Players already on the Rush last who want that fit with a clay outsole.
- Anyone tired of a white clay shoe that never looks clean again.
Why Buy This Shoe
Within the same line, the Rush Pro 5 is the all-court shoe and sits lower in price; the Tour 5 Clay is the surface-specific one. If you split your week between clay and hard courts, the Pro is the more sensible buy, because a clay tread loses its edges quickly on abrasive hard courts and you would be paying for grip you then wear off.
Buy this one if clay is where your matches actually happen and lateral hold is what your current shoe lacks. Choose something lighter if you rely on covering ground rather than sliding into it, and choose a plusher hard-court model if you are on concrete most of the year.
